This is my "second" Ultra Duo 4. I wanted a Canadian assembled, mid-drive, fat tire, step thru e-bike with dual batteries. Not only is it the only one in the market place it is backed by the best company. Every communication with Biktrix over the past 5 years has been stellar.
So I now have a green one and a red one in the garage waiting patiently for spring. Okay not so Patiently!
I have now ridden over 11,000 kilometers on my first Ultra Duo 2 and the first
Ultra Duo 4. With the two batteries there is no battery fatigue syndrome. The Thudbuster ST seat post with the 4 inch fat tires provides a very smooth ride. I can only say that when deciding on my "third" Biktrix the Ultra Duo 4 is an easier steering bike than the Ultra Duo 2. There is no under-steer. The only non Biktrix option that I added to the new bike was an adjustable handle bar riser that is user friendly and on long trips you can lift a lever and adjust your handle bars without rummaging through your tool box and wasting time. This a very convenient option that allows you to adjust your sitting position and arm position quickly.
This new Ultra Duo 4 is my 80th. birthday present and my one wish is that when we take self directed e-bike trips in Europe that I could take my own bike with me. It is cost prohibitive so we get to compare other e-bike, mid drives with Biktrix and they all come up short.
We are all fortunate that Bitrix is in Canada.
